China, Angola’s Presidents want pragmatic cooperation, enhance parliamentary exchanges

China is planning to enhance pragmatic cooperation with Angola and strengthen parliamentary exchanges between the two countries, said a visiting Chinese senior official.
During his stay here, Wang Chen, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, met with Angolan President João Lourenço and Acting Speaker of the Angolan National Assembly Emilia Carlota Dias.
When meeting João Lourenço, Wang Chen, also vice chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, first conveyed cordial greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping and recalled the two meetings between the two leaders in Beijing last year, during which they reached important consensus and charted the course of the bilateral relations, as reported by Xinhua.
China looks forward to jointly work with Angola to deepen political mutual trust, enhance mutual support on issues of core interests and major concerns, enhance mutually beneficial cooperation, promote the Belt and Road construction, and expand exchanges in education, culture and tourism, said Wang.
He also called for close international cooperation to oppose unilateralism, safeguard free trade, defend the common interests of developing countries, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Angola’s Head of State, João Lourenço asked Wang Chen to convey his sincere wishes to President Xi and expressed appreciation for the valuable support China has provided for the country's cause of national liberation and economic and social development. Strengthening pragmatic cooperation with China is Angola's unwavering strategic choice, said the president.
