In response to a devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar, India has initiated 'Operation Brahma', deploying an 80-member National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team to aid in search and rescue operations. As Myanmar grapples with a rising death toll now exceeding 1,000, the need for international assistance has become critical.

Indian Air Force C-130 J aircraft, carrying approximately 15 tonnes of relief supplies including tents, blankets, and essential medicines, landed in Yangon as part of India's swift response. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in talks with Myanmar's military leader Min Aung Hlaing, has pledged continued support and solidarity during this crisis.

The Ministry of External Affairs has confirmed that additional relief aircraft are set to depart shortly, emphasizing India's commitment to provide disaster relief material and humanitarian assistance to the affected regions. The seismic impact was felt as far as Bangkok and China's Yunnan province, with several aftershocks maintaining urgency for comprehensive relief efforts.
