The Baloch National Movement (BNM) held a protest in Hanover, Germany, on the 77th anniversary of Pakistan's occupation of Balochistan. Activists spotlighted continued human rights abuses in the region, urging global awareness through speeches and placards. They strongly condemned the detention of Baloch leaders, demanding their immediate release.

In stirring speeches, prominent BNM leaders like Sharhassan, Nadeem Saleem, Sadiq Saeed, and Rahman Baloch addressed the attendees, underscoring that Balochistan remains under occupation since its annexation by Pakistan on March 27, 1948. Despite relentless oppression, they reaffirmed the Baloch people's unwavering struggle for independence. The rally also criticized the recent surge in state violence in Quetta, particularly the March 22 assault on a peaceful sit-in on Sariab Road, which led to three deaths and numerous injuries.

Reflecting on Balochistan's past, speakers recalled the longstanding independence struggle dating back to the 19th century, and marked March 27 as a Black Day for Baloch resistance. They urged international intervention against Pakistan's human rights violations. The protest followed the arrests of Baloch leaders during peaceful demonstrations, highlighting the dire state of rights in Balochistan amidst frequent crackdowns and widespread abuses. (ANI)
