Germany-based Uyghur activist and former World Uyghur Congress President, Dolkun Isa, has publicly communicated the ongoing suffering endured by his family due to China's alleged oppressive policies against the Uyghur community. In an emotional social media post, Isa disclosed the grim reality surrounding his brother's mysterious fate.

Dolkun Isa revealed that his younger brother, Hushtar Isa, has been missing since 2016 and was sentenced to life in a Chinese prison in 2021. Without knowledge of his brother's location or the reasons for his sentence, Isa expressed that Hushtar's sole 'crime' was being Uyghur and his sibling. He urged the international community to help uncover the truth and break the silence surrounding his brother's case.

The situation of the Uyghur people remains dire, particularly in China's Xinjiang region, where reports of extensive human rights violations are prevalent. Allegations of forced assimilation policies that include mass surveillance, arbitrary detentions, and suppression of religious and cultural expressions have been made.
