In Muzaffarabad, tensions reached a boiling point at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir as a student protest against unfair examination bans turned violent. Local media outlet Hum English reports that the unrest began after university administration barred students with unpaid fees from exam halls without notice.

The demonstration quickly escalated when police attempted to disperse students using tear gas and baton charges. Reports indicate that eleven students were detained, including leaders Sardar Waleed Ayub and Sardar Saqib Javed, with many others injured in the chaos, according to Hum English.

Amid widespread condemnation, students decried the administration's forceful crackdown, claiming their grievances had been ignored for days. The heavy-handed police response has drawn attention to ongoing issues of repression in PoJK, highlighting a pattern of aggressive measures against civilian activism. (ANI)
