In a developing situation, Karachi's Mayor Murtaza Wahab has advised the Majlis-e-Wahdatul-Muslimeen (MWM) to redirect their protest actions towards the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. His comments come as MWM sit-ins bring parts of Karachi to a standstill, creating significant road congestion, as reported by ARY News.
Mayor Wahab has expressed concern that Karachi's residents are bearing the brunt of protests unrelated to local governance issues. He highlighted that the MWM, previously allied with PTI, should strategically relocate their demonstrations to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the PTI holds governmental power. Despite the chaos, Wahab emphasized continued efforts to resolve these disruptions through dialogue.
The protests, organized by the MWM, aim to show solidarity with Parachinar residents, who for six days have been demanding justice and peace. With a focus on major city arteries like MA Jinnah Road and Numaish Chowrangi, traffic paralysis further strains daily life in Karachi. Multiple routes remain blocked, exacerbating commuter woes as efforts to negotiate peace intensify.
