Jerusalem: Recent Israeli airstrikes have resulted in the elimination of approximately 200 Hezbollah militants and the destruction of 140 rocket launchers, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Thursday morning. The IDF reported that these launchers posed a direct threat to Israeli territories, especially those in close proximity to southern Lebanon.
The strikes targeted launch sites responsible for recent rocket attacks on Western Galilee and central Israel. Among those eliminated were key figures in Hezbollah's Radwan Force, responsible for battalion operations and anti-tank weaponry. These targeted operations mark significant steps in dismantling Hezbollah's offensive capabilities against the Israeli homeland.
Additionally, Hezbollah's infrastructure in the Dahieh district of Beirut, a known Shi'ite hub and Hezbollah stronghold, was heavily bombarded. The IDF noted that a majority of Hezbollah's production sites and weapon storage facilities, deliberately concealed within civilian premises, were destroyed. This campaign forms part of broader efforts to thwart Hezbollah's activities following the recent escalation in hostilities triggered by Hamas attacks earlier in October.
