UAE Establishes New Aid Agency to Boost Global Humanitarian Efforts

The UAE has taken a significant step in fortifying its reputation as a leading humanitarian force with the establishment of the UAE Aid Agency. Announced through Federal Decree No. 27 of 2024 by President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, this agency is set to spearhead the nation's foreign aid initiatives, boasting independent legal authority to fulfill its mission globally.
Vice President Mansour bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan highlighted this move as a testament to the enduring humanitarian values envisioned by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. This agency is expected to focus on disaster response, development programs, and capacity building, underlining the UAE's dedication to global humanitarian and development challenges.
Underscoring the UAE's commitment, Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized the agency's goal to impact areas like education, healthcare, and infrastructure in crisis-stricken and unstable regions. The agency is built on a foundation of collaboration with international partners to make sustainable progress. With an impressive history of over USD 98 billion in foreign assistance benefiting over one billion individuals, the UAE claims its position as a top donor country.
