Manoj Bihari Verma, who is presently serving as a Counsellor at the High Commission of India in Dar-es-Salaam, has been appointed the next Ambassador of India to Liberia, the Ministry of External Affairs announced. Verma, registered in the year of appointment 2009, is expected to assume his new role shortly.
The announcement comes in the wake of the 19th CII India-Africa Business Conclave held on August 21 in New Delhi, which emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between India and Africa. The event featured prominent speeches by Vice Presidents Muhammad Bs Jallow of Gambia, Jeremiah Kpan Koung of Liberia, and CGDN Chiwenga of Zimbabwe.
During his address at the Conclave, Liberia's Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung praised India's extensive history and contributions to global politics, economy, and security. He emphasized the enduring diplomatic relationship of over sixty years between India and Liberia, highlighting the significant trade and commerce engagements between the two nations.
