The Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD) has made an urgent appeal to Chinese authorities, demanding the disclosure of the whereabouts of four Tibetans, who have been held incommunicado since early September in the Ngaba region of Sichuan Province.

Among those detained arbitrarily are two monks, Lobsang Samten and Lobsang Trinley, from Kirti Monastery, along with siblings Tsering Tashi and Wangkyi.

Lobsang Samten, a respected member of his monastic community, has previously faced detention. Concerns have been raised about familial ties to India. Increased repression, including arbitrary detentions and restrictions on community expression, has been reported in Ngaba.

The detentions are part of a broader campaign of cultural assimilation, evidenced by the forcible closure of monastic schools in July.

The TCHRD is calling for international awareness and action to ensure the rights and freedom of the Tibetan people.
