France Aims to Boost Indo-French Educational Ties with Choose France Tour 2024

France is actively working to strengthen educational ties with India through the Choose France Tour 2024, a key initiative aimed at attracting more Indian students to French academic institutions. Ambassador Thierry Mathou emphasized the goal of hosting 30,000 Indian students in France by 2030, highlighting the importance of this collaboration during the New Delhi leg of the tour.
The Choose France Tour 2024, currently taking place across India, showcases over 50 French schools and academic programs to prospective Indian students. The tour, which began on October 19 and concludes on October 27, is visiting Mumbai, Chandigarh, New Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. Over 11,000 students and parents have registered for the event, which features 57 universities and academic experts from various disciplines.
Ambassador Mathou underscored the strategic partnership between France and India, noting that education can play a crucial role in strengthening ties. Notable French investments in India include more than 700 companies generating over 500,000 jobs. Mathou also mentioned that while business courses remain popular, they hope to attract Indian students to sectors like engineering and hospitality through direct counseling and one-on-one meetings with educational institutions.
