The Ad-hoc Employees' Action Committee has held a press conference to criticize the government of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) for its longstanding negligence towards the regularisation and job security demands of contractual workers.
Salik Abbasi, a representative of the committee, highlighted the plight of these workers, many of whom have dedicated years to the region. Despite their essential roles, the government has failed to address their demands or initiate any action within 13 days of the latest agreement following a significant protest.
The situation has escalated as frustrated employees intensify their demonstrations, urging the administration to follow examples set by other regions in Pakistan. They seek permanent status to ensure stability, protesting for the recognition and regularisation of their employment tenure.
