In a rapidly escalating diplomatic spat, tensions between India and Canada have reached a boiling point. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused the Indian government of a 'fundamental error' by supposedly supporting criminal activities in Canada. Defense expert Anil Gaur, discussing this fraught situation, suggested Canada reconsider its recent actions that might severely impact bilateral relations.

Gaur critiqued Trudeau, alleging that safeguarding his parliamentary seat has led him to ally with anti-India factions advocating for Khalistan's separatist movement. He pointed out Trudeau's coalition with Jagmeet Singh of the New Democratic Party, an outspoken Khalistan supporter. According to Gaur, despite Canada's knowledge, India remains uninvolved in Hardeep Singh Nijjar's killing, which resulted from internal gang conflicts.

Gaur also condemned Canada for harboring Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, labeled a terrorist by India. Pannun, notorious for inciting violence and threatening India's critical infrastructure, continues to pose a serious threat. Highlighting the lack of evidence against India in Nijjar's murder, Gaur emphasized that this propagates an unwarranted diplomatic row. Recent expulsions of diplomats by both nations underline deteriorating relations, signaled by India's firm rejection of Canada's diplomatic assertions as politically driven.
