Prime Minister Narendra Modi has returned to India after a pivotal two-day stay in Laos, where he engaged in the 21st ASEAN-India and 19th East Asia Summits. During his visit, he conferred with leaders from Laos, Thailand, and New Zealand and held discussions with notable figures such as South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and Japan's newly elected Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba.

Invited by Laos's Prime Minister, Sonexay Siphandone, PM Modi received a ceremonial Guard of Honour upon his arrival in Vientiane. The visit marked the anniversary of India's 'Act East' policy, highlighting its strategic importance. Modi also interacted warmly with the Indian diaspora in Laos, sharing in their excitement and aspirations.

Throughout the trip, Modi engaged in significant diplomatic dialogues, including talks with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Malaysia's Anwar Ibrahim. His discussions with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba emphasized a shared commitment to a secure Indo-Pacific region. With a focus on deepening ties, Modi's visit further reinforced ASEAN's centrality in India's strategic vision.
