United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has once again called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon due to escalating tensions in the Middle East. Emphasizing the dire need for peace, he highlighted in a video message on X the urgent necessity for the unconditional release of hostages and essential aid delivery to those in desperate need.

Guterres warned of the worsening situation in the region, noting that with every missile launch and airstrike, peace becomes harder to achieve. "The conflict in the Middle East is getting worse by the hour," he said, urging global condemnation of what he described as "abhorrent acts."

The recent Israeli military actions and Hezbollah's counterattacks have raised concerns about the increasing toll on civilians. The deadly exchange continues to impact the region significantly, with reports of multiple casualties and significant destruction, according to local sources.
