A precision strike by Israeli forces in Beirut has led to the death of Mohammad Rashid Sakafi, the head of Hezbollah's communications unit. The Israeli Defence Force (IDF) confirmed the strike, describing it as intelligence-based and precisely executed in the Lebanese capital on Thursday.

Sakafi was accused by Israeli authorities of bolstering Hezbollah's communications network since 2000. The IDF highlighted his pivotal role in enhancing the group's communication infrastructure across multiple units. This operation is part of a broader strategy, as Israeli troops discovered a cache of weapons during subsequent raids in southern Lebanon.

Among the weapons uncovered were rocket launcher munitions, anti-tank missiles, and other armaments, allegedly aimed at Israeli territory. These findings were reported to be stored within civilian structures, raising further tensions in the volatile region. The IDF's operations underscore a continued effort to dismantle what it terms 'terrorist infrastructure' amid increasing hostilities in the area.
