Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Cabinet Committee on Security convened to address the escalating West Asia crisis and its global ramifications, sources report. Concerns have surfaced over potential disruptions to India's crude oil supply and subsequent international price hikes.

The meeting, held on Thursday ahead of the Cabinet gathering, included senior ministers and officials. Sources revealed discussions focused on the crisis's potential impact on India, emphasizing a significant risk to oil supplies and pricing. India, expressing deep concern, is closely monitoring the unfolding situation, urging non-escalation of conflict.

Amid rising tensions, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu labeled Iran's missile strike on Israel as a "big mistake," promising retribution. Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, celebrated the assault via social media. The Israeli Defense Forces recently conducted precision airstrikes in Beirut, leading to civilian casualties following the death of Nasrallah.

Tensions flare as Israel vows consequences for any attacks against it, highlighting the regional threat after a massive Hamas assault on October 7 last year. The ensuing Israeli counter-offensive in Gaza has led to significant fatalities, raising humanitarian concerns highlighted by the Palestinian health ministry.
