As China marked its national day, Tibetans gathered outside the Chinese Embassy in Delhi to protest against alleged atrocities in Tibet. Demonstrators vocalized their demands with slogans such as, "Make China accountable for committing atrocities in Tibet," "Free Tibet," and "Stop genocide in Tibet."
Police detained several protesters as they shouted slogans against China. Recently, the Tibetan Youth Congress organized a cycle rally to heighten awareness around the cultural genocide in Tibet and to pressure the Chinese government to cease these actions.
The cycle rally began in Dehradun, passing through Chandigarh before reaching Delhi. Covering over 400 kilometers, the event involved 50 cyclists. Tibetan Youth Congress President Gonpo Dhundup noted the rally's objective to compel China to halt cultural genocide and to garner international and Indian support for Tibet.
On September 27, during the 57th general session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), a European Union representative reiterated concerns about the ongoing human rights crisis in Tibet. The representative highlighted issues such as obligatory boarding schooling, mass DNA sampling, and the closure of Tibetan schools. The EU committed to monitoring the preservation of fundamental freedoms and cultural identity of Tibetans, urging China to respect human rights and the rule of law.
