In a crucial development, an accountability court in Islamabad has slated October 2 as the date for the indictment of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in the new Toshakhana case.

The session, presided over by Special Judge Central Shah Rukh Arjumand, was held at Adiala Jail with both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in attendance. Insights from Ary News reveal that the judge turned down the post-arrest bail requests made by Imran Khan and his spouse in the Toshakhana-II case.

This development follows the acceptance of appeals by the Islamabad district and sessions court regarding their conviction in the Iddat case. The case highlighted issues with Islamic customs in their marriage, leading to their seven-year prison sentence earlier this year.

On July 13, the couple was detained in a new NAB reference related to Toshakhana shortly after their acquittal in the Iddat case. The Toshakhana-II case stems from accusations that Khan sold state gifts, causing a loss to the national treasury.

The prosecution's evidence includes details of a luxury Bulgari set gifted by the Saudi Crown Prince, which was undervalued and kept by Khan instead of being deposited in the national treasury. This new indictment adds further complications for Khan as he deals with multiple charges while incarcerated.
