Tasleema Akhter, a political activist from Kashmir, has openly criticized Pakistan's double standards on the Kashmir issue. According to Akhter, areas under Pakistani occupation, such as Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan, are facing severe hardships.

As the chair of the Association of Terror Victims in Kashmir (ATVK), Akhter returned from the 57th Session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva. She strongly condemned Pakistan's role in sponsoring terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, pointing to organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen for causing immense suffering. Akhter stated, 'The world must understand that the atrocities in Kashmir are solely due to Pakistani terrorism. We will continue to expose Pakistan on every platform.'

Akhter highlighted Pakistan's contradictory stance, 'On one hand, Pakistan claims to champion Kashmir, but on the other, it commits severe atrocities in PoJK and Gilgit-Baltistan. Pakistan cannot tolerate India's progress.' She urged the global community to stop funding Pakistan, accusing it of misusing international aid for military purposes. Akhter praised the positive changes in Jammu and Kashmir post the abrogation of Article 370, noting significant improvements in youth engagement, education, and tourism.
