Jammu and Kashmir political activist Javed Beigh has accused Pakistan of spreading misinformation about Kashmir at international forums. This criticism comes after Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif rekindled the Kashmir issue in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly.

Beigh, speaking to ANI after participating in the 57th UN Human Rights Council session in Geneva, lambasted Pakistan's longstanding narrative on Kashmir as a sign of political dysfunction. He asserted that Pakistan is a "failed state" controlled by its military and intelligence agencies. According to Beigh, Pakistan's leadership has consistently misled both its citizens and the international community about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Highlighting the importance of Pakistani-occupied territories, Beigh reiterated that regions like Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and Pakistan-occupied Gilgit Baltistan (PoGB) rightfully belong to India. He emphasized that regaining these areas is crucial for India's strategic vision and national development. Beigh noted contrasting situations for the youth in these regions, accusing Pakistan of radicalizing its youth while praising the achievements of Indian-administered Kashmiri youth on international platforms.
