The Israeli army announced it struck about 300 targets in Lebanon, with widespread airstrikes against Hezbollah positions. Civilians were warned to move away from homes used by the Iran-backed group to store weapons.
Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant called for public composure and obedience amid the widening conflict. The IDF confirmed that dozens of fighter jets from all squadrons participated in the strikes. A shepherd was killed and six others injured in the Beqaa Valley region.
Lebanese people received text messages and phone calls from the IDF, urging them to distance themselves from Hezbollah sites. IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee accused Hezbollah of endangering civilians for its own benefit. Warning messages were also broadcast on radio stations, Lebanon's NNA reported.
