In Dubai, an official from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is under investigation for multiple harassment allegations, as reported by ARY News. The airline has removed the Sales Regional Manager from his position following the complaints.
A female employee provided evidence of harassment, prompting a formal application against the sales manager with the Federal Ombudsman for harassment, currently under review. PIA's spokesperson reaffirmed the airline's zero-tolerance policy towards workplace harassment, assuring appropriate administrative action if allegations are substantiated.
On a related note, PIA previously took action on August 4 against the Deputy Station Manager in Birmingham, Javed Iqbal Bajwa, after discovering discrepancies in his educational qualifications. Bajwa was found to have submitted a fake intermediate certificate, leading to a show-cause notice from the airline.
Meanwhile, the privatization of PIA is nearing completion, as per the National Assembly's standing committee on aviation. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) currently operates 22 out of 43 airports and is facing budgetary constraints, affecting the development side and the adoption of advanced equipment.
