A massive fire at an illegal petrol pump in Karachi's residential area resulted in the death of one person, ARY News reported. The petrol pump had been set up illegally through alleged bribes to authorities.

Residents, who had repeatedly raised concerns with the Assistant Commissioner of Korangi, lived in fear as the unauthorized petrol pump continued to operate. Ten families living in the building had collectively appealed for its removal, but their pleas went ignored.

The tragic incident claimed the life of Siraj, who was at a salon when the fire broke out. Residents say the petrol pump owner boasted about paying off officials, ensuring the continued operation of his illegal setup. Rescue teams faced challenges due to heavy smoke while evacuating stranded individuals.
