Satyam Surana, an Indian student in the UK, has alleged a prolonged campaign of harassment and smears against him during college elections at the London School of Economics due to his pro-government views. Surana voiced concerns that, despite six months passing, no substantial steps have been taken.

In an interview with ANI, Surana detailed the ordeal he faced earlier this year, including death threats and bullying, which he attributes to anti-India and anti-Modi groups. Despite filing numerous complaints with various authorities, including the Indian government and his university, he said promises of action remain unfulfilled.

Surana, who previously gained attention for retrieving the Indian flag amid an attack on the Indian High Commission in the UK, described how his election campaign posters were defaced, and malicious efforts were made to associate him with the BJP to derail his electoral chances. He expressed fears for new Indian students who might become targets of similar harassment.
