External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has touched down in Geneva, Switzerland, commencing his visit by paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi. Jaishankar emphasized that Gandhi's ideals of harmony and sustainability are increasingly pertinent amidst today's global polarisation and conflict.

In a message on X, Jaishankar shared, "Started my visit to Geneva by paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi. In a world of polarisation and conflict, Bapu's message of harmony and sustainability is more relevant than ever." During his stay, he will meet with Switzerland's Foreign Minister to review the strong partnership between the nations and explore ways to enhance their bilateral ties.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) noted that Geneva hosts numerous UN bodies and international organizations. Jaishankar is set to engage with heads and representatives of these organizations, reinforcing India's active involvement in global affairs. This visit follows his tours in Germany and Saudi Arabia, where he engaged in high-level diplomatic talks.
