The court emphasized that it cannot interfere in government policy matters like the closure of utility stores. The LHC suggested that such issues should be taken up in Parliament. Minister of Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, clarified that there is no plan to close down the Utility Stores Corporation but to reorganize it, as reported by ARY News.
Hussain's remarks came in response to a call attention notice from Asifa Bhutto Zardari of the PPP in the National Assembly.
