In a heated presidential debate aired on ABC News, former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris clashed over the state of the nation's economy and immigration policies. Trump launched a scathing attack, claiming that inflation under the Biden-Harris administration has reached unprecedented levels, causing widespread economic distress.

Trump stated, "We have inflation like very few people have ever seen before. Probably the worst in our nation's history. We were at 21 per cent, but that's being generous, because many things are 50 per cent, 60 per cent, 70 per cent, and 80 per cent higher than they were just a few years ago." He also accused the current administration of allowing millions of illegal immigrants into the country, which he claimed were taking jobs and committing crimes.

In response, Harris pointed to the significant number of Republicans and former administration officials who have defected from Trump. She stated, "When we listen to this kind of rhetoric, when the issues that affect the American people are not being addressed, I think the choice is clear in this election." Harris also called out Trump's allies for scuttling a bipartisan immigration bill, accusing them of preferring to politicize problems rather than solve them.
