The United Arab Emirates and the United States recently convened for the fourth session of their Joint Consular Committee in Washington. The primary objective was to enhance and bolster cooperation in all consular fields to provide outstanding support and services to the citizens of both nations.
The meeting was chaired by Khalid Abdulla Belhoul, Under-Secretary of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Hugo Rodriguez, Acting Assistant Secretary at the Bureau of Consular Affairs in the US Department of State. Belhoul conveyed greetings from Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and lauded the historic ties between the UAE and the US, dating back to 1972.
During the session, the participants acknowledged the significant strides made in bilateral relations in recent years. They discussed several initiatives aimed at streamlining consular services to meet the aspirations and expectations of their citizens, pointing towards a future rich in cooperation and consular partnerships.
