External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar emphasized the critical role of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in global energy supply, calling it a 'cornerstone' during the inaugural India-GCC Joint Ministerial Meeting for Strategic Dialogue on Monday.
Jaishankar also showcased India's rapid economic growth and its importance in global demand, asserting that 'much of the world's future demands will come from India.' He emphasized that deeper collaboration between India and the GCC would help stabilize markets, drive innovation, and enhance energy security.
Highlighting the partnership's foundation in history, culture, and shared values, Jaishankar said: 'Our relationship goes beyond transactions. It is built on trust, mutual respect, and a shared vision for the future.' He also expressed India's stance on the escalating conflict in Gaza, calling it a 'foremost concern' and urging a ceasefire, while reaffirming support for a two-state solution.
