External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held discussions with Qatar's Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Saudi Arabia, exploring ways to advance bilateral relations. Jaishankar expressed appreciation for Al Thani's insights on regional affairs.

The leaders previously met in Doha in June, focusing on bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors. Jaishankar conveyed warm regards from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Qatar's leadership.

Highlighting the robust India-Qatar partnership, Jaishankar emphasized cooperation in politics, trade, investment, energy, culture, and technology. Jaishankar's visit to Riyadh includes attending the First India-GCC Foreign Ministers' Meeting and bilateral talks with GCC ministers.

During his stay, Jaishankar toured the Saudi National Museum and King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives, reinforcing the historical ties between India and Saudi Arabia.

The Ministry of External Affairs notes the significant trading relationship and large Indian expatriate community in the GCC, aiming to enhance institutional cooperation. Following Riyadh, Jaishankar will visit Germany and Switzerland.
