NDP leader Jagmeet Singh has officially withdrawn his party's support from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Liberal government. Singh criticized the administration for being 'too beholden to corporate interests,' citing this as a principal reason for ending their political agreement, according to CBC News.

In an interview on CBC's Power & Politics, Singh detailed instances where the Liberal government failed to act on corporate greed, specifically high food prices. He lambasted the government's response of advising people to check grocery flyers and asking CEOs to stabilize prices, measures Singh called ineffective.

The NDP had entered a confidence-and-supply agreement with Trudeau's government in 2022, which included legislative commitments on NDP priorities like dental care and rental supplements. However, the Liberal government has yet to fulfill these promises. The termination of the agreement places the Trudeau administration in a precarious position as they now face the risk of non-confidence votes when Parliament reconvenes.
