The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that Bangladesh was indeed a topic of discussion during a telephonic conversation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden. Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal clarified that press releases issued after such conversations are not comprehensive statements and may not include all discussed topics.
Jaiswal also noted that Modi and Biden exchanged views on regional and global issues, including the situation in Ukraine. He emphasized that the omission of specific aspects from a press release does not imply that those subjects were not addressed in the conversation.
Reaffirming the accuracy of the press release, Jaiswal stated that the leaders also talked about cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region and stressed the importance of a peaceful resolution to conflicts based on international law and the UN Charter. Their conversation highlighted a commitment to peace and prosperity through various regional groups, including the Quad.
