A delegation from Abu Dhabi's Department of Community Development (DCD) visited New Zealand to delve into leading practices for advancing community quality of life. Led by Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the DCD, the delegation aimed to gain insights aligned with the OECD's quality-of-life framework.

The delegation engaged with New Zealand's key institutions to understand the Living Standards Framework (LSF), which helps governmental agencies identify and prioritize crucial factors impacting quality of life. This framework, structured around financial and physical capital, human capability, the natural environment, and social cohesion, supports effective decision-making and initiative implementation.

Additionally, the delegation explored New Zealand's methods for integrating social priorities into public budget planning, utilizing advanced impact-analysis tools. They also examined New Zealand's integrated data system, which aids both the government and researchers in achieving quality-of-life objectives and formulating effective plans. Discussions also covered the social and economic frameworks employed by New Zealand to meet community needs, set long-term well-being goals, and ensure data accessibility.
