Kuwait Backs ALPS Group's Sudan Peace Talks and Humanitarian Efforts

Kuwait City [Kuwait], August 25 (ANI/WAM): Kuwait has officially welcomed the joint statement issued by the Aligned for Advancing Lifesaving and Peace in Sudan (ALPS) Group, following their successful mediation in the latest round of intra-Sudan talks held recently in Geneva, according to the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry.

In a press release disseminated by the Kuwait News Agency, the Ministry acknowledged the vital role played by regional and global partners in facilitating the Geneva discussions. Additionally, the Ministry commended the agreement to open crossings and secure routes to expedite the delivery of international humanitarian aid to the Sudanese populace.

Furthermore, the Ministry supported the call to adhere to the Jeddah Declaration, which was originally issued in May 2023. Reiterating Kuwait's steadfast commitment to humanitarian assistance, the Ministry announced that Kuwait's air bridge has already completed 24 flights delivering tonnes of aid to Sudan. (ANI/WAM)
