In a landmark move to bolster India's diplomatic presence in Europe, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Poland today. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, stated that PM Modi will be the first prime minister to pay homage at three significant memorials during his visit.

"He will shortly visit Good Maharaja Square, Monte Cassino Memorial, and the Memorial to Kolhapur Family. The history behind these memorials connects Poland and India in a very special way," Jaiswal added. The visit underscores historical ties, including the Maharaja of Nawanagar's rescue of Polish Jewish children during WWII.

During the visit, PM Modi will also engage in discussions with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Andrzej Duda to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral relations. He will meet with the Indian community and business leaders to bolster cultural and economic ties. Modi emphasized Poland's role as a key economic partner in Central Europe, noting their shared values of democracy and pluralism.

Following his visit to Poland, PM Modi will head to Ukraine to meet President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This marks the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine, aiming to strengthen bilateral cooperation and advocate for a peaceful resolution amid ongoing conflicts.
