Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Poland on Wednesday, marking the beginning of his two-nation visit. He received a ceremonial welcome at Warsaw airport and expressed optimism about the various programs planned in Poland, emphasizing the visit's potential to boost India-Poland relations.

Modi's visit holds substantial significance as India and Poland celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal highlighted this milestone, noting Modi's engagement with the Polish leadership and the Indian community in Poland. Among the key activities, Modi will lay a wreath at the memorial dedicated to Jam Saheb Digvijaysinhji Ranjitsinhji, the Maharaja who sheltered Polish children during World War II.

Additionally, Modi will honor the monument to the Battle of Monte Cassino, commemorating the Second Polish Corps' WWII victory, and visit the Kolhapur Memorial, which remembers the Polish children relocated to Valivade in Kolhapur in 1945. His itinerary underscores the deep historical ties and continued friendship between the two nations.
