Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday, departed New Delhi for a significant visit to Poland and Ukraine. Prior to his departure, PM Modi expressed his anticipation of laying the groundwork for stronger and more vibrant relations with the two countries in the coming years.

The visit coincides with the 70th anniversary of India's diplomatic relations with both nations. 'Poland is a key economic partner in Central Europe. Our mutual commitment to democracy and pluralism further strengthens our relationship. I look forward to meeting Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Andrzej Duda to advance our partnership,' PM Modi stated, as per the Ministry of External Affairs.

Modi will also interact with the Indian community in Poland. Following his Poland visit, he will travel to Ukraine at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. 'I aim to build on previous discussions with President Zelenskyy on bilateral cooperation and the peaceful resolution of the ongoing Ukraine conflict. We hope for an early return to peace and stability in the region,' PM Modi added in his departure statement.

In Poland on August 21-22, PM Modi will engage in meetings with his Polish counterpart, Donald Tusk, and the President, and will also interact with the Indian community. The Prime Minister will receive a ceremonial welcome in Warsaw. After Poland, Modi will visit Ukraine to continue diplomatic dialogues about regional peace and stability.
