Former White House press secretary under the Trump administration, Stephanie Grisham, addressed the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Tuesday to express her support for US Vice President Kamala Harris. Grisham criticized former President Donald Trump for his perceived lack of empathy, morals, and adherence to the truth, CNN reported.

The second night of the DNC, hosted in Chicago, centered around the theme "A Bold Vision for America's Future." During her speech, Grisham revealed that Trump mocked his supporters privately, referring to them as "basement dwellers." She described how the Trump family had become her family as she spent various holidays with them at Mar-a-Lago.

Recounting a conversation with former First Lady Melania Trump during the January 6 riots, Grisham stated she had asked Melania if they could post a message advocating for peaceful protests and denouncing violence, to which Melania replied, "No." Grisham endorsed Kamala Harris for President, stating, "Kamala Harris tells the truth, she respects the American people and she has my vote." The night also featured speeches from former President Barack Obama, former First Lady Michelle Obama, and other key Democrats.
