Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India's commitment to uplifting the developing countries during his address at the third Voice of Global South Summit. Modi emphasized India's role in sharing its developmental experience in infrastructure, digital, and energy sectors, significantly boosting cooperation among participating nations.
Speaking at the virtually-held summit, PM Modi referred to the Voice of Global South Summit as a platform that vocalizes the needs and aspirations of previously unheard communities. He urged unity among Global South nations and invited them to participate actively in the upcoming UN 'Summit of the Future.' Modi emphasized that collective action through initiatives like the Global South Young Diplomat Forum and the Global South Excellence Centre, which focuses on capacity building and knowledge sharing, is crucial for progress.
Modi reiterated India's dedication to inclusive growth via digital public infrastructure, citing the success of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in connecting Global South countries. He also presented India's health security vision, 'Aarogya Maitri,' underscoring its assistance to African and Pacific nations. Modi called for reevaluation of global governance and financial institutions to better address contemporary challenges, advocating for a unified voice of the Global South to uplift two-thirds of the world's population.
