Trump Enlists Tulsi Gabbard for Debate Prep Against Kamala Harris

Former President Donald Trump is gearing up for his debate with US Vice President Kamala Harris by bringing in former Democratic congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard. Gabbard, who previously clashed with Harris in 2019, joined Trump's practice sessions at Mar-a-Lago to help sharpen his attacks ahead of the September 10 showdown.

Former President Donald Trump has enlisted the help of ex-Democratic congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard as he prepares for his upcoming debate with US Vice President Kamala Harris. According to a New York Times report, Gabbard participated in Trump's practice sessions at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

Gabbard, who distanced herself from the Democratic Party after her 2020 presidential bid, has long been an ally of Trump and was even speculated to be a potential running mate. Her prior debate performance, where she fiercely criticized Harris, made her an ideal choice for Trump's debate preparation.

Trump's spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, confirmed Gabbard's involvement, emphasizing Trump's proven debating skills. Despite claiming he doesn't need extensive debate prep, Trump has devoted significant time this year to honing his strategies, including informal discussions with advisers and practice sessions with aides posing as moderators. This preparation mirrors the approach he took before his CNN debate with Biden in June, which ultimately contributed to Biden exiting the race.

Trump's advisors plan to maintain a similar strategy for the September 10 debate with Harris. Gabbard's participation brings unique benefits, including her experience as a woman debater who has previously confronted Harris. During their 2019 encounter, Gabbard attacked Harris' prosecutorial record, leading to heightened tensions between the two.

The upcoming debate is expected to be a fierce contest, with both sides sharpening their attacks. Gabbard's previous assault on Harris for her prosecutorial decisions and her low standing in polls adds an intriguing dynamic to the Trump-Harris face-off. Harris, however, remains confident in her approach, having defended her record in past debates.
