The UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology has joined forces with its BRICS counterparts and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) to establish a Centre for Industrial Competences. This landmark initiative aims to bolster industrial skills and capabilities among its members.

The declaration of this partnership was made at the 8th BRICS Industry Ministers Meeting, chaired by Russia. The event united industry, trade, and technology ministries from countries including the UAE, Russia, Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Iran, and South Africa, under the theme 'Strengthening multilateralism for equitable global development and security.'

Omar Al Suwaidi, Under-Secretary of the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, praised the collaborative effort, emphasizing the substantial economic opportunities BRICS nations represent. He reiterated the UAE's dedication to fostering global partnerships for sustainable development, addressing key challenges such as food security and climate change. The meeting also underscored commitments to industrial policy supporting the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on green technologies and innovation in industrial practices.
