Thousands of protesters convened in Shaal, Mashtung, demanding justice for those killed during the National Gathering on July 28. Attendees of the rally, organized by the Baloch Yakhjeti Committee (BYC), vowed to resist state oppression.
The crowd condemned the killing of Deputy Commissioner Zakir Baloch in Mastung district, who was gunned down during a firefight. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) denied involvement, accusing the Pakistani military and provincial government of falsely implicating them.
BYC emphasized that the killings of Zakir Baloch and Satara Shabbir are part of a decades-long series of state-led bloodbaths targeting Baloch youths. They called on international human rights organizations and the United Nations to intervene to prevent further genocide in Balochistan.
Activist Mahrang highlighted the ongoing targeting of Baloch individuals, condemning the daily murders that have turned Balochistan into a slaughterhouse. She urged solidarity against the devaluation of Baloch lives.
Protest rallies against alleged state killings during the National Gathering will continue throughout the province.
