Abu Dhabi Judicial Department Resolves AED44 Million in Disputes in H1 2024
The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department settled 1,234 disputes worth AED44,039,415 in the first half of 2024, focusing on mediation and conciliation to enhance justice and support economic growth.

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) reported the successful financial settlement of 1,234 commercial, real estate, civil, and consumer disputes during the first half of 2024, amounting to AED44,039,415. According to ADJD's Vital Operations Performance Report, the settlements include 657 commercial disputes totalling AED148,844,088, 276 real estate disputes worth AED104,434,016, and 301 civil and consumer disputes amounting to AED189,761,311.
ADJD Under-Secretary Counsellor Yousef Saeed Al Abri stressed the significance of encouraging a culture of alternative dispute resolution. He noted that the department's emphasis on mediation and conciliation aligns with Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan's vision to promote amicable settlements and bolster Abu Dhabi's competitive edge.
Al Abri highlighted strategic partnerships with external mediation centres, such as the Real Estate Dispute Settlement Centre and the Consumer Dispute Settlement Centre, aiming to expedite the resolution of commercial and economic disputes efficiently. These initiatives advocate for alternative dispute resolution as a primary step before litigation, ensuring rights protection and fostering a conducive environment for entrepreneurship and investment in Abu Dhabi.
