An accountability court has sanctioned an 11-day physical remand for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in a fresh Toshakhana case. The duo was presented in a makeshift courtroom at Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail on Thursday after completing a 10-day physical remand.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Deputy Director Mohsin Haroon, accompanied by Prosecutor General Muzaffar Abbasi, requested a 14-day remand extension. However, the court granted an 11-day remand and adjourned the hearing until August 19. On August 6, NAB officials led by Assistant Director Umar Wasim interrogated Khan and his wife at Adiala, as reported by The News International.

Subsequently, additional NAB officials joined the investigation, which spanned six hours. Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were arrested in the new Toshakhana case following their acquittal on July 13 in a separate un-Islamic marriage case. Earlier, the couple had been sentenced to seven years in prison for fraud but saw their conviction overturned. Despite the suspension of his Toshakhana sentence, Khan's release remains uncertain due to multiple ongoing cases.
