The World Economic Forum (WEF) has commended the Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC) for its pivotal initiatives, including the Dubai Cyber Innovation Park. These efforts are set to empower the new generation of cybersecurity experts, as highlighted in WEF's strategic Cybersecurity Talent Framework report.

The report also acknowledged DESC's Cyber Security Competency Framework, known as Qudraat, which aligns employee assessment with training and development within the city's cybersecurity landscape. This move aims to address a global shortage of cybersecurity professionals, estimated at 4 million.

DESC, in collaboration with its global partners including the WEF, plays a critical role in this endeavor. Contributions from team members Bushra AlBlooshi, Ayesha Mohammad AlMarzooqi, Maitha Khalid Al Muhairi, Shaikha Essa Al Mheiri, Zeina Naser, and Moaza Majed Al Flasi have been particularly noted for their dedication and expertise.

Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director-General of Digital Dubai, emphasized the importance of international partnerships and skills development in both the digital and cybersecurity sectors. He underlined that enhancing Dubai's status as a leader in cybersecurity is part of a broader strategy for economic growth and innovation.

Yousuf Hamad Al Shaibani, Head of Cyber Security of Dubai, reiterated the importance of cybersecurity as the backbone of digital transformation. He stressed DESC's commitment to nurturing young talents and maintaining Dubai's leading position in the cybersecurity field.

The Cybersecurity Talent Framework also suggests improving hiring practices, understanding the roles of cybersecurity professionals, and fostering workforce diversity. It calls for rethinking job requirements and better alignment between hiring managers and HR departments.

Bushra Al Blooshi from DESC highlighted the global shortage of cybersecurity professionals and emphasized DESC's role in advancing global cybersecurity standards. She praised Emirati professionals for their skills in strategic planning and research, which support global efforts led by the WEF.
