Indian diplomat Abhay K is envisioning a Bollywood adaptation of Jayanath Pati's novel 'Fool Bahadur'. He sees Manoj Bajpayee as Mukhtar Samlal, Pankaj Tripathi as SDO Maulavi Mojjafer Nawab, Sonakshi Sinha as Naseeban, and Rajpal Yadav as Circle Officer Haldhar Singh.
Abhay believes renowned director Vishal Bhardwaj is the ideal choice for this project. Bhardwaj's talent for adapting literary works and his ability to blend dark humor with drama perfectly align with 'Fool Bahadur'. The novel, set in colonial Bihar, tells a satirical tale of a young law officer's schemes in a corrupt bureaucracy.
Translating the novel from Magahi to English, Abhay faced challenges in maintaining its original humor and tone. However, he hopes the cinematic adaptation will captivate audiences and highlight the absurdities of a corrupt system while offering a glimpse into historical and contemporary societal issues.
