In a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, former US President Donald Trump vowed to end the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and bring 'peace to the world' if re-elected. Trump made this announcement on Truth Social, emphasizing the significance of unity and peace.

The call, which Trump described as 'very good,' saw Zelenskyy condemn an assassination attempt on Trump and extend congratulations for the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. Zelenskyy noted the strong bipartisan support in the US for Ukraine's freedom and independence, even amidst the assassination attempt.

During a pre-election debate with President Joe Biden, Trump reiterated his commitment to ending the conflict by January 20 next year if he returns to office. However, Ukraine remains apprehensive about losing vital US support as Trump's and Biden's campaigns continue. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken acknowledged the uncertainty of future US aid to Ukraine but highlighted long-term commitments from over 20 NATO members.

Meanwhile, Zelenskyy attended a British cabinet meeting, garnering renewed pledges of support against Russia. Discussions included coordinated actions against Russia's 'shadow fleet,' further solidifying international backing for Ukraine.
