Global software giant Microsoft announced on Friday a widespread outage affecting its online services, impacting customers worldwide, including India. Users reported 'Blue Screen of Death' errors, flooding social media platform X with complaints. Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike also suffered a major outage, significantly affecting global businesses, attributed to a recent update which the company is currently rolling back.

Windows users reported persistent blue screen errors, with many devices stuck in restart loops. In the US, major carriers like Delta, United, and American Airlines grounded all flights, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Berlin Airport suspended all flights, while the London Stock Exchange cited technical glitches, Bloomberg reported.

In India, SpiceJet and IndiGo reported technical issues affecting booking and check-in services. Downdetector's heatmap showed widespread issues across India. Australia also faced large-scale outages, affecting numerous companies and services, said its National Cyber Security Coordinator. Microsoft announced its ongoing investigation into the issue, which affected services like Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, and others, affecting global accessibility.
