According to the official statement, Biden will be returning to Delaware to self-isolate while fully carrying out all of his duties. Biden, 81, tested positive after attending the NAACP National Convention in Las Vegas, where he criticized Donald Trump's policies and condemned rising gun violence.

The President, who has been vaccinated and received booster shots as recently as September 2023, said in a post on X that he feels fine and thanked everyone for their well-wishes. He assured the public that he will continue working even while isolating. The President's doctor disclosed that Biden exhibited upper respiratory symptoms, including a runny nose and a non-productive cough. Despite feeling well initially, point-of-care testing revealed a positive result for the virus.

His symptoms remain mild, with normal respiratory rates and temperatures. Biden had previously tested positive for COVID-19 in July 2022 and had a rebound infection shortly after. The CDC has reported a recent increase in COVID-19 rates across the country, with a 23.5% rise in emergency visits for the virus.
